Our diverse and welcoming community of scholars -- professors, staff, and students -- inspire each other to constant growth through careful study and thoughtful practice, opening paths for professional success, community engagement, and life satisfaction.

In particular, we prioritize interdisciplinarity (including double majoring), experiential learning, career advising, and success for all.

Beginning in the fall of 2024, your donations have helped us achieve our mission and vision by financing the Dean’s Opportunity Fund. This fund provides opportunities and experiences which (given limited state funding) might not otherwise be available for our students who often come from modest means.

Since last Fall, your donations have so far made it possible for:

• Undergraduate and graduate students to present their research at academic conferences and sing at international concerts.
• Students to participate in class visits to museums, cultural sites, and other off-campus activities, making their studies come alive.
• Faculty members to bring additional hands-on-activities into their classrooms.
• Faculty members attend professional development opportunities in order to continue to strengthen their pedagogy and research, in order to keep their courses relevant and engaging for our students.

This year we hope to do even more! In short, your donations work to support our wonderfully diverse community, and add to the educational experience of our students!
