The Center for First Generation Social Work Student Success
The Center for First Generation Social Work Students has created a number of programs. This fund supports them all including a program called Pathways.
Pathways is a program designed to increase opportunities for first-generation students from any high school district in Rhode Island by introducing and recruiting them to the field of social work. Any first-generation student can participate in the program. Pathways intends to, in particular, introduce and recruit high school Black males in their junior and senior years to the field of social work. By participating in Pathways, first-generation students will have opportunities for success that they wouldn’t otherwise have as they earn an undergraduate and master’s degree in social work.
