The Leah Rosin-Pritchard '19 Endowed Fund
Leah didn’t take the “traditional” educational route. She left college after two years because she wasn’t sure of the direction she wanted to go. Instead, Leah embarked upon a wonderful journey of travel, entrepreneurship, horticulture, volunteer work, and culinary mastery. Leah worked as an assistant cook on a small cruise ship. She managed a restaurant in Boulder, Colorado. When she returned to Rhode Island, Leah owned and operated a food business - Leah’s Recipe LLC. She coached a high school girls’ volleyball team, worked for the Hope High School Dollars for Scholars program, taught adult cooking classes, and co-founded the Jamestown RI Farmers’ Market.
Along her journey, in large and small ways, Leah spent time in service of others. She cooked regularly at the Martin Luther King, Jr. Center in Newport, RI and was instrumental in improving their food pantry. She also bestowed lovingly-made baked goods and cooked dishes on her friends, and dropped off care packages for people she encountered who were in need. Leah supported her family, friends, co-workers and community with every breath. So, in the end, it made total sense that she would pursue an undergraduate and then graduate degree in social work. Leah walked through life with integrity and love and everyone who knew her is better for it.
