Boldly Together . . . that is how Rhode Island College will continue to impact the lives of our students. 

Where We Started
In our first century, we were a leader in our state and region in advancing techniques for training future educators. A century later, we made a bold move to construct a new campus, marking the transition from the Rhode Island College of Education to Rhode Island College. Seventeen years later, we began training nurses and health-care professionals to provide high levels of care in medical facilities across Rhode Island and beyond.

Who We Are
Today, Rhode Island College is truly Rhode Island’s college. We offer the most affordable, quality education throughout New England, with 88 distinct undergraduate degrees, concentrated into 50 majors within 21 broad fields of study. Our student population is diverse in thought and in background. Nearly 40 percent of our students identify as people of color. Each year, our campus community looks more like the state we serve. We are training the future leaders of tomorrow.

Where We Are Going
Over the next decade, Rhode Island College will be a leader in the state and throughout the Northeast by continuing to offer affordable tuition, cutting-edge, experiential learning opportunities, academic programs that offer not just a degree but the opportunity for social mobility, and much more.
