Giving Tuesday is a global day of generosity celebrated each year on the Tuesday after Thanksgiving. It’s a movement that inspires people everywhere to give back and make a positive impact in their communities. This year, we invite you to join QCC in this spirit of giving.
One of the most pressing needs at QCC is our HomePlate Food Pantry, which provides essential groceries and personal care items to students who are working hard to achieve their dreams. For many, food insecurity is a daily reality. Your generosity ensures that no student has to choose between buying food and paying for textbooks.
Since July 1 the Pantry has serviced, 763 students. Last year that number for students serviced in the Fall and Spring semesters in total was 832 students.
When students face hunger or struggle to feed their families, their ability to focus, learn, and persist in their classes is significantly compromised. Meeting basic needs is essential for academic success—students cannot succeed academically when they are worried about where their next meal will come from.
