Honor the Legacy of Robert Lee Mejer by Supporting Future Visual Artists
In loving memory of Robert Lee Mejer, Quincy University mourns the loss of a beloved professor, visionary artist, and dedicated mentor whose impact on generations of students and the arts community will be felt for years to come. To continue his extraordinary legacy, we invite you to support the Robert Lee Mejer & Jason Dillard Mejer Visual Arts Awards Scholarship.
Established in 1989 by Robert Lee Mejer, M.F.A., this scholarship celebrates the Mejer family's deep commitment to the arts at Quincy University. Robert served QU for over five decades as a Distinguished Professor of Art, Chair of the Division of Fine Arts, and founder/curator of the Gray Gallery. His creative vision and mentorship shaped the lives and talents of countless students.
His son, Jason Dillard Mejer, a 1995 QU alumnus and adjunct professor from 2000 to 2011, shared his father’s passion for the visual arts. A gifted artist and decorated tennis player and coach, Jason brought the same excellence to his teaching and coaching as he did to his art. Jason’s mother, Mary Beth, also played a pivotal role in QU’s arts legacy, establishing the ceramics program in 1969 and teaching until 1976.
Together, the Mejer family helped shape the identity and excellence of visual arts at Quincy University. By giving to this scholarship, you ensure that future students studying visual art can pursue their passions with the support they need—while honoring a family whose lives were devoted to creativity, education, and excellence.
Give today and carry forward the Mejer legacy.
