About

Help PSP build the infrastructure and electronics needed to develop, test, and operate our student-built spacecraft.

The Boiler Bus program was established in 2024 by Purdue Space Program Satellites (PSP Sats). After an earlier mission-specific satellite project was canceled, the team pivoted toward developing a standardized satellite platform that could support a wide variety of future payloads. Boiler Bus is designed to be a student-built, low-cost, and reliable CubeSat platform that can provide spacecraft integration, testing, and operations for academic, industry, and government partners.

Funding now equips the lab PSP Sats needs to build, test, and integrate Boiler Bus hardware on schedule.

The $5,000 raised will support the development of the dedicated infrastructure and equipment PSP Sats needs to manufacture, integrate, and test Boiler Bus hardware. Funding will help provide electronics workstations, test equipment such as power supplies and logic analyzers, command-and-control peripherals, workbenches, fabrication materials, and other essential lab infrastructure. These resources will give our students a reliable environment to develop spacecraft hardware and prepare it for system-level integration and testing.

Without this funding, PSP Sats would need to delay or reduce the development of the lab infrastructure and test equipment required for Boiler Bus. Limited access to dedicated electronics and integration resources would slow hardware development, prototyping, troubleshooting, and system-level testing. These delays could impact the program's development schedule and make it more difficult for our students to prepare Boiler Bus for its first mission.
