About

Purdue Chem-E-Car is a student organization at Purdue University that challenges students to design, build, and test a car powered by a chemical reaction. Throughout the year, our team works across battery, pressure, mechanical, electrical, and stopping systems to develop a car that can successfully compete. Our team qualified for the 2026 AIChE National Competition at the North Central Regional Conference in March 2026 with our Pressure Car. This achievement gives us the opportunity to represent Purdue at the national competition in Minneapolis in November 2026. Preparing for competition has given our members hands-on experience in engineering design, experimentation, troubleshooting, teamwork, and leadership that extends beyond the classroom.

Your support will help our team turn a year of hard work into the opportunity to compete nationally and represent Purdue.

Donations will directly support our team’s participation in the 2026 AIChE National Competition in Minneapolis. Funds will help cover competition registration, transportation, lodging, and other travel expenses, as well as materials and equipment needed to prepare and compete. These funds will allow our team to focus on designing, testing, and improving our Pressure Car while ensuring that our members can attend the competition and represent Purdue. Any additional support will also help us continue purchasing materials and equipment needed for future Chem-E-Car competitions.

Without sufficient funding, our team may face difficulty covering the costs associated with traveling to and participating in the national competition. This could limit the number of students able to attend and reduce our ability to fully participate in the competition. Overall, limited funding would make it more difficult for our team to purchase the materials and equipment needed for hands-on design, testing, and experimentation. Donations help ensure that students can gain the full engineering experience that Chem-E-Car provides, from developing a design in the lab to representing Purdue at a national competition.
