The Portland State Veterans Resource Center (VRC) provides a safe-space and direct-support to Veteran-students and their families. This includes facilitating their transition to higher education, supporting ongoing academic success, and promoting post-educational goals/career opportunities. We offer a safe and inclusive environment where all Veteran identities are honored. Our goal is to ensure that Veterans feel welcome and their service is valued and celebrated!
Help us lower barriers and create a path to success for Veteran-students at Portland State University. It's our honor to serve those who served and we appreciate all the support!
PSU has been officially designated a 2026-27 Military Friendly School (Gold Level)
Thank you to our champions and supporters - it has taken a team effort to get here and we appreciate you all!
Foundation Support in Action!
Last year with donors support, we funded:
1) New study spaces. Partially funded through donors’ help, we renovated a large portion of the VRC to build five accessible and dedicated study spaces for our community. Feedback from students has been overwhelmingly positive and grateful!
2) The VRC Veteran Hardship Fund. Assisted 16 Veteran students last year who were experiencing emergencies and financial difficulties especially with the previous year's government shutdown.
3) The VRC Food Pantry. Our food pantry was stocked all year; funded by generous donations. Our food pantry is not tracked or logged in order to lower barriers to a community who are hesitant to ask for support or help.
An Exciting Year Ahead!
We need your continued support to stock our Food Pantry, provide Emergency Hardship grants, and to give Veteran students opportunities to support their mental health and overall wellness!

New Initiatives for 2026-2027:
1) Laptop Lending Program. Last year saw a record number of students struggling with financial difficulties requiring basic support to continue their academic studies. Our goal this year is to launch a new program to provide temporary access to laptops for students in need.
