The Native American and Indigenous Student Scholarship Fund helps PCC’s Native and Indigenous students by providing scholarships and academic resources. Through this fund we are able to provide scholarship support to students to remain enrolled, persist, and graduate from PCC. This fund also supports retention programs for Native & Indigenous students such as club support, tutoring, connections to mentors and community members and post college career opportunities.
This fund needs support now which would help with addressing current problems PCC’s Native & Indigenous students are facing. Finding resources that are culturally specific for Native & Indigenous students is rare at PCC. This includes the rising cost of living in Portland that is commonly experienced by college students with limited income. Opportunities to create community on their native land is vital to student retention and a successful college experience. Donating to this fund would support Native & Indigenous students to finish PCC, become leaders in their own communities and give PCC the systemic backing they need to have a positive time in college.
