THE SMART START CAREER FELLOWS PROGRAM is an exciting initiative, unique to the Pomona College Career Development Office, created to support first-generation university or college second-year (sophomore) and/or low-income students.
The primary goal of the program is to provide career development opportunities and experiences for students who have an interest in exploring varying professional pathways.
Smart Start consists of seminars focused on self-assessment, networking, interview skills and more. Working with Pomona staff, students begin to create a career plan, which culminates in an expense-paid Career Trek to a city where they engage in industry site visits and alumni/professional networking events.
