SCHOOL OF EDUCATION

At Point Park University’s School of Education, we are dedicated to transforming students into confident, capable, and compassionate educators who are ready for the challenges of today’s classrooms. From undergraduate students exploring innovative teaching methods in our state-of-the-art Matt’s Maker Space labs to graduate students driving systemic change through our master’s and doctoral programs, the student-centered approach we provide sets our programs apart.

AREAS OF IMPACT:

• Pennsylvania State Education Association (PSEA): an organization for future educators that supports education majors through leadership opportunities, professional development, community service, and advocacy for public education. Point Park’s Student Chapter is dedicated to creating a space for the next generation of teachers to collaborate, lead, and change education for the better. 2026 Day of Giving funds will contribute to membership fees and club costs.
• Transportation for Required Field Experiences and Outreach Events: Hands-on experiences in schools and educational settings are an essential part of preparing future educators and are required as part of Pennsylvania Department of Education (PDE) educator preparation programs. Point Park students participate in field experiences throughout the region, giving them opportunities to observe exemplary educators, work directly with PK–12 students, and connect university coursework to authentic classroom practice. Transportation can create a significant barrier for students, particularly when placements are not easily accessible by public transit. 2026 Day of Giving funds will help offset transportation costs for required field experiences, helping ensure that every education student can access the meaningful, real-world learning experiences needed to become a confident and prepared educator.
