Point Park University Athletics is off to an exciting start in 2025-26! In July, the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) announced that Point Park University has been officially approved for its second provisional year of the NCAA Division II membership process. Point Park is fielding 19 varsity teams that compete at the intercollegiate level this year, welcoming its largest recruiting class of student-athletes in university history.
Recently, Point Park announced that Womenβs Flag Football is the newest addition to our athletics programs, with the initial Womenβs Flag Football roster to be recruited during the 2025-26 academic year and competition to begin a varsity schedule in the spring of the 2026-27 academic year.
In year one of the NCAA membership process, Point Park made an immediate impact competing in the Mountain East Conference (MEC), headlined by its 2025 North Division and Tournament Championship in baseball this spring. Point Park baseball and men's and women's track & field teams also both ranked in the Atlantic Region Top 10 throughout the 2024-25 campaigns in each sport.
Our student-athletes also excel off the competition field. The Athletic Department grade-point average (GPA) for the 2024-2025 school year was 3.35. During the 2025 spring semester, four of our athletics programs recorded team GPAs of 3.50 or higher and 53 student-athletes recorded a perfect 4.0 GPA.
Pioneer student-athletes also embrace "Life in the Balance," a major part of the division's positioning to allow student-athletes to learn and develop through their desired academic pursuits, in civic engagement within their communities, and in athletics competition. The Pioneers also take pride in community engagement as they participate in numerous community service projects every year.
