About

Eric W. Gossard Memorial Fund

Established in the fall of 2021, the Gossard Memorial Fund will support the educational and leadership advancement by members of the Illinois Zeta Chapter of Phi Kappa Psi Fraternity. Over the next 10 years, this fund will support one member of the IL Zeta Chapter each year to provide need based financial support to help subsidize their educational expenses and registration at Phi Psi leadership schools and /or towards their tuition for undergraduate or graduate education.

The Phi Kappa Psi Fraternity engages men of integrity, further develops their intellect, and enhances community involvement. With a legacy built on acceptance and trust, each brother realizes his highest potential through a lifelong experience of service and excellence.

Eric Gossard pledged Phi Kappa Psi at DePaul University in the fall of 1996 as a member of the Eta Pledge class. Eric was not just a friend to many, but truly a brother, and embraced the legacy of the fraternity. Eric often talked about how he would have never been friends with some guys if not for this bond. Those guys were the ones that “turned out to be the guy I learned to love as brother as we both chased, then finally achieved, the same passionate goal together...which ironically enough was brotherhood."

Eric held various officer positions both at both the undergraduate and alumni level of the fraternity. As a member of the House Corporation, he was part of a handful of guys that helped to fund and establish the IL Zeta Chapter Scholarship Endowment Fund. By establishing this memorial in Eric’s name, we hope that others will be inspired to chase the same goal he had in the bond – Brotherhood.
