About

This year our team has a goal of having our practice gymnasium floor resurfaced and to add Men’s NCAA 3-point lines to the floor. As we prepare for our season our players want to be able to practice like the other teams that we compete against and the main ingredient is the surface and design of the court. It has been over 5 years since the Crawford floor has been sanded and resurfaced and it makes it tough for the players to prepare. There are many dead spots on the floor that cause the chairs to perform at lesser level and bumps on the floor that throw passes and pushing off.

Currently there is only a high school 3-point line on the court. From a practice and competition standpoint it is not a sanctioned floor for any college competitions. As our players for through their shooting drills and try to take shots from the current line they can make them with ease. But it doesn’t prepare them for what they will compete on during game day. While McComb Fieldhouse is our primary home court for competition, we have played some college tournaments in Crawford. The great thing about competing in Crawford is the crowd, with the smaller venue it is truly a home court advantage. In order for us to do this in the future and have teams want to return, we need a surface and set of 3-point lines that meet the needs of the game.

Our team is still fairly young but showed great growth last season. We tripled the number of wins from the previous season and were led by 2nd Team All American Jeremy Evans. The Attleboro, MA native lead the team in points, assists and rebounds. Jeremy was also named for the 2nd year in a row to the Academic All-American Team. Jeremy’s hard work on and off the court has rubbed off onto his fellow teammates. Fellow Junior’s Elijah Yoder and Isaiah Johnson also had improved sophomore seasons and with these 3 juniors our program is heading in the right direction.

Your donation will help support these players along with the rest of the team in helping us have a floor that is not only practice and competition ready, but something to be proud of when we bring the next generation of Boro Wheelchair Basketball players on campus. Please help support your team with a generous donation that will help move our program forward.
