PennWest is committed to supporting the well-being of all students through two important initiatives: the PennWest Pantry and the PennWest Student Emergency Fund.
PennWest Pantry
The PennWest Pantry helps students who may be facing food insecurity or hardship. With five locations across our three campuses—Edinboro’s Ghering Health and Wellness Center and Pogue Student Center; Clarion’s Gemmell Student Complex; and California’s Natali Student Center and Vulcan Village—the Pantry provides accessible support where students need it most.
In September 2022, PennWest was designated a PA Hunger-Free Campus, a statewide initiative focused on reducing student hunger, connecting campus advocates, sharing resources, and expanding access to essential support services. This recognition reflects our ongoing commitment to addressing basic needs across the university.
PennWest Student Emergency Fund
The PennWest Student Emergency Fund was created to support underserved students who are facing unexpected financial challenges that could disrupt their education. This fund provides timely assistance to help students stay enrolled, stable, and focused on their academic goals.
