Pacific University is proud to be a place where students from varied backgrounds can learn and grow. At least a quarter of our students are the first in their family to attend college, and many work to support themselves while they’re in school.
As global events unfolded over the past few weeks, Pacific University worked quickly to ensure our students’ health and well-being. However, many of our students have emergency needs as they scramble to transform their academic experience.
In response, we have established the Pacific University Student Emergency Fund to assist students during these unforeseen financial emergencies.
Your gift to this fund will provide emergency assistance for students with critical financial shortages for transportation, rent, food, technology and more.
We know we can rely on the compassion of our Pacific community to help one another as we have in the past. Your gift, of any size, will help our students navigate this difficult time.

2095 days ago by Mandi MontplaisirA few months ago our world dramatically changed, and it became rapidly apparent that there was a real and immediate need for emergency support for our students. We reached out, and the Pacific community overwhelmingly responded.
Students and their family found themselves without jobs and income in the midst of stay-at-home orders, which led to an inability to pay for groceries, rent and utilities. Additionally, with the move to online course, students required internet access and a reliable computer to participate in their classes. It was difficult for many students to focus on their studies, while others faced concerns that they would not be able to complete the requirements of their degree or return to Pacific in the future.
With your help, more than $136,000 has been contributed to the Student Emergency Fund, and nearly 180 students have benefited so far from this much-needed aid. Your generosity helped to ease their burden and transform their lives. We cannot thank you enough.
Your support makes all the difference to us, especially during these uncertain times. Your contribution tells our students that someone believes in them, someone they might not even know, and that is powerful.
Your gift to the Student Emergency Fund made an immediate and tangible impact on Pacific University students in need, and we are inspired by your compassion and generosity.

When Fernando Lira ’21 started working to support the Pacific University Student Emergency Fund, he didn’t imagine he would actually use it.

At Pacific, we are grateful for the outpouring of support from so many individuals in the Pacific community. Alumni, trustees, employees, parents and friends have answered the call to support our students in this time of great uncertainty. Thank you for this generous support.
However, our work is not done. We know hardships will continue to arise for our students in the upcoming months, and want to be able to respond to their applications for urgent support.
Therefore, we are expanding the Pacific University Student Emergency Fund campaign beyond the initial 30 days. This allows us to serve more of our graduate and undergraduate students in need.
Please continue to share the Pacific University Student Emergency Fund campaign with your classmates, friends and family. With your help, we hope to see the fund keep growing to serve even more of our students.
