Esther Morales Liedecke dedicated her life to her students. Esther gifted young minds with her unwavering encouragement and support, inspiring them to grow and flourish throughout their education. A proud OLLU alumna, Esther earned her BS in Elementary Education (1964) and MEd in Psychology and Guidance (1973). Esther’s husband, Adam Liedecke, and her children, Joseph Liedecke, Mary Lou Liedecke Ramos and Patsy Liedecke, PhD, want to continue her legacy by establishing and raising funds for the Esther Morales Liedecke Scholarship. Gifts made in her honor will allow Esther’s lifelong passion to endure, touching the lives of today’s OLLU students and tomorrow’s leaders.
Friends,
As 2020 comes to a close, I would like to take a moment to thank you once again for supporting the Esther Morales Liedecke Scholarship. Your contribution has helped to raise over $17,000 of the endowment’s $25,000 goal. Thank you for your generosity and dedication to education; Esther would be so proud!
I am happy to announce that, despite the challenges of these unprecedented times, the scholarship has continued to grow and gain support across our community. Most recently, KSAT journalist and OLLU alumna, Alicia Barrera, did a story on Esther’s legacy through the scholarship. The story has helped to make not only the scholarship, but also our combined efforts visible to the local community, especially as we aim to finish out the year with a scholarship balance of $20,000. If you would like to make another contribution, please contact me at sdzumaran@ollusa.edu or at 210-322-4332.
Again, thank you for being a crucial part of continuing Esther’s legacy and touching lives of OLLU students, their families, and our communities for generations.
May your holidays be blessed with joy, peace, and health in the coming new year.
In Providence,
Steven Zumaran

I am grateful and amazed at how quickly we have exceeded our second phase goal and are well into reaching our third phase goal of $15,000! This momentum of generosity is a testament to how much an impact Mama has had within our community. Many of you have helped by donating your time at one of our events, donated items to our silent auctions, and given generously to the Esther Morales Liedecke Endowed Scholarship.
As I mentioned we are well into our third phase and a great way to help us reach and exceed it is through setting up a recurring donation. Our efforts are spread out over five years to reach $25,000, so imagine if we have 10 people commit to $25 a month for a year, that will add up to $3,000. Please, reach out to your friends and others who may not be aware of how we are honoring Mama. The more people that know about the impact that we are trying to make through her scholarship, the increased likelihood of us reaching our overall goal within the next year.
If you are ready to make your commitment, please contact Steven Zumaran, Development Officer, at 210-322-4332 or sdzumaran@ollusa.edu to learn about different ways to contribute.
Thank you again for your commitment to honoring Mama’s legacy by supporting an Our Lady of the Lake University Student.
God bless you,

2178 days ago by StevenThank you for donating to the Esther Liedecke Scholarship at Our Lady of the Lake University! The first phase of our campaign had a goal of $5,000 and I am happy to announce we have surpassed it!
Our overall goal is to raise $25,000 during a five-phase campaign in order to create an endowed scholarship in Esther’s name. We are planning different initiatives to raise $5,000 during each phase. Thanks to benefactors like you, we believe we can reach this goal if we continue to keep the momentum going. With the great success of the first phase of our campaign, we are now making plans for the second phase.
One way to help us with this effort is by setting up a recurring monthly gift of $50, $25, $10 or whatever you are willing to contribute. You can easily set up a recurring gift on our GiveCampus website through the link HERE, just be sure to check the recurring gift box.
Together, we will reach our goal and surpass it, and honor Esther’s legacy at Our Lady of the Lake University.
