1972 days ago by Katherine LongoToday is the day! It is sunny, relatively mild (-6 C), with chance of snow, and some strong, cold winds!
We're now off to complete our 10-km challenges, or 5 kms each for our teams of 2. We're all looking forward to seeing the photos and videos that will be posted and shared by participants.
A HUGE thank you to everyone who is making this event such a resounding success. We are blown away by the support shown by so many sponsors! Thank you so much!
Some fun facts:
-Dan Olshen of Combermere read about our event in local online newspaper the Madawaska Valley Current, and decided to cover the cost of the pizza for the household with greatest participation! He has given us vouchers for pizzas from his favourite local pizzeria. Thank you, Dan!
-We have not one, or two, but three teams of 2 that consist of a Mary and an Elizabeth! May Our Lady of the Visitation and Saint Elizabeth be special patrons of our event today.
-Some of our youngest sponsors are under the age of 5, and wanted to sponsor a family member out of their own piggy banks! They each contributed between $1 and $2 in coins.
-Our largest single gift, given by an anonymous donor, was $1,000.
-Today is the last day to give to this campaign, which closes at 11:59 pm EST tonight (Saturday February 6)!

Sponsors are responding with such generosity; THANK YOU to each one of you!!
Our 100-donor goal was reached last night, and continues to climb.
3 days remain, as participants strive to win prizes for number of sponsors and dollars raised.
A draw just announced gives participants more opportunities to win cool College merchandise.
Local media are taking notice: https://madvalleycurrent.com/2...
And in sunny, snowy Barry's Bay, the temperature is rising, and might even reach above 0 degrees C this week! Let's see what Saturday has in store...
1985 days ago by Katherine LongoWe are excited to announce that we have 57 participants registered for the first-ever Wisdom Winter Workout! This is amazing: more than half of our student body and college community will be doing this challenge!
Thank you so much to our sponsors! We are looking forward to walking, running, skiing, and skating on February 6th. Oh, and one who will be skateboarding, an exception only offered to participating priests. :-)
Please pray that the weather is nice that day, as today in the Bay it's a chilly -15C to -22C, but gloriously sunny.
