Happy Thanksgiving classmates!
We hope this note finds you doing well! Homecoming at Olivet was great this year! Some of us were there and the student enthusiasm and sense of mission was evident all around the campus. It’s not too early to start thinking about putting Homecoming 2026 on your calendar.
SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT FROM DAN GEEDING, CLASS PRESIDENT
SAVE THE DATE – OCTOBER 24, 2026 – CLASS OF ’71- 55TH CLASS REUNION
OLIVET NAZARENE UNIVERSITY
BOURBONNAIS, ILLINOIS
DETAILS TO FOLLOW
We’re proud to announce that our Spirit of ’71 Scholarship fund is growing. This school year our class was able to provide for five scholarships ranging from $700 to $2,000, a total of $5800, to needy and worthy students. Here are the most recent recipients:
- Alaina Barr - $2,000
- Rebecca Boyd - $700
- Kristle Cruz - $1,000
- Levi Maafala - $1,000
- Sara Throckmorton - $1,100
Please consider giving a gift today to help grow the fund! $71 or $710, it all adds up! Let’s hit the $200,000 mark before our 55th reunion in 2026! The more the fund grows, the more students we help! Thank you all for your past contributions!
Consider giving to the Spirit of ‘71 Scholarship fund on Giving Tuesday (Dec. 2)!
Lastly, we ask that you take some time to pray for our scholarship recipients, Dr. Chenoweth, the students, faculty and staff at Olivet. Technology and culture have changed a lot since 1971. People are still people, though. Genuine prayers make a difference! It’s the principalities and powers thing.
Lord, please continue to pour out your Spirit on Olivet!
On behalf of the Spirit of ‘71 Scholarship Committee,
Jerry and Carol Dockery
