The 2025 Olivet Nazarene University men’s soccer season was one for the history books! The Tigers captured the CCAC Regular Season and Tournament Championships in historic fashion – winning 13 of 13 games. The team went on to win the NAIA National Tournament 1st Round match-up 4-0 against La Sierra (Calif.), the first National Tournament win since 2012, and only the second playoff win in program history. The season came to an end with a heartbreaking 2nd round loss. 2025 was also a historic season for the reserve team, who won the first ever CCAC Reserve League Regular Season Title in dominating fashion.
“2025 was an incredible year!” said head coach Jon Forsythe. “We saw huge strides in the program for the guys both on and off the field, and we cannot wait to build on this in 2026. Your generous support of the program helps the student-athletes both compete at a high level on the field, as well as receiving support from the program to grow as students, leaders, and men of God.”
On this year’s Day of Giving, the men’s soccer program is raising funds for three projects:
- Expanded travel to away games during the regular season – with high ambitions for the 2026 campaign, the team is seeking to play the best possible non-conference schedule in the NAIA. The planned non-conference schedule will include longer away trips, including overnight trips, in order to play top opponents across the country. Your generous gifts will allow the team to fund expanded travel in the 2026 season.
- Historical team plaques on the exterior of the locker room - last year, with your generous support, the program was able to finish our brand new locker room, equipping it with beautiful branding and furniture. This year, we would like to put up plaques on the outside of the building celebrating the teams of the past. We will make a plaque for each team from our history that won a conference title, regional title, or appeared in the National Tournament. Every player that enters the locker room in the coming years will be inspired by the previous teams and seek to build upon the program’s storied history.
- Bible study materials – Coach Forsythe: “Over the last 2 years, we have hosted a player Bible study in our home. One of the most impactful times in the study was when we were gifted a He Reads Truth devotional book on the book of Matthew, which the players read throughout the study. We would like to provide similar materials for players for our future studies.”
