Kristi Jones

Ever since I was a little kid, I’ve had a deep desire and passion to make an impact in the lives of others. I truly believe that each day presents an opportunity to make a difference in someone’s life, whether through small gestures or significant sacrifices. I am currently a senior in college, studying Nursing, and plan to begin my career in August. My goal is to gain experience in the medical field so that I can better serve my family, friends, and community, and ultimately fulfill my dream of traveling the world to participate in medical missions. My own testimony entails medical hardships and situations I have faced, including cancer, and witnessed loved ones endure similar struggles. I’ve also been blessed to be adopted out of the poverty of the orphanages in China. Because of God’s love and grace overflowing in my life, I am here today, and I feel called to be His hands and feet, sharing that same love and hope with others around me.

I have been given the incredible opportunity to participate in a medical mission trip to the Dominican Republic in May! I am beyond excited to serve those in need across the world. The mission trip is led by an organization from my school called the Shalom Project. During this trip, we will be setting up our own
medical site for people to come get the care they need to simply live. We will be providing medical care to community members of all ages in mobile health clinics and working alongside the GO medical team to treat patient needs and provide needed medications. I hope to fully immerse myself in their culture (as well as not having my phone) to learn, experience, and grow to become a better nurse as well as to become a better person overall for our world.

While there are many people who need help right here in our own communities, there are also millions across the globe who lack even the most basic access to medical care. I believe God is calling me to go to the Dominican Republic to serve these individuals. This trip won’t be easy, and I can’t do it alone. That’s why I’m inviting you to be a part of my team to help make a difference together. Please pray for our group’s safety as we fly and navigate out of the country into a new one for a week. Please also pray for lives to be changed while we are there and that the people are able to get the help they need. Help them physically, but also emotionally and spiritually. That we can create meaningful relationships and that they can experience God’s love through us.

If you feel led to support this mission financially, any amount is deeply appreciated. I am a little nervous about raising the money needed, and ask that you pray for a miracle for me to raise $2,700 by April. The cost is high because the money raised is used for the medical clinics that we provide. These countries cannot afford to pay for medical clinics, so we support and provide everything.
