Gifts to Computer Science contribute to...
Last year, your generosity transformed our Programming Lab with brand-new computers, creating an optimal environment for hands-on learning. This year, we want to build on that momentum by enhancing how students engage with lectures and instructional content.
Hear from our program director, Dr. Jeff Rice!
Currently, our lecture capture system is basic, using a simple webcam and desktop microphone. To ensure every student has access to high-quality recorded lessons, we aim to upgrade to a state-of-the-art lecture capture system featuring a beam-forming microphone array and an auto-tracking camera. This will provide crystal-clear audio and professional-grade video, making lectures more accessible for students who need to review material, catch up on missed classes, or reinforce their understanding of complex topics.
With your support, we can raise $5,631.31 to bring this much-needed technology to our Programming Lab! How This Will Impact Students:
✅ Better Accessibility – Students can revisit lectures anytime, ensuring they grasp key concepts at their own pace.
✅ Enhanced Collaboration – High-quality recordings will allow students to share knowledge and study more effectively.
✅ More Engaging Learning – The auto-tracking camera keeps focus on the instructor and whiteboard, making recorded content feel dynamic and interactive.
✅ Equity in Learning – Students who miss class due to illness, athletics, or personal reasons won’t fall behind.
Your support directly enhances student success and the learning experience in our department. Help us take our programming lab to the next level and make a lasting impact on future computer scientists! Would you consider making a gift today to help us reach this goal?
Thanks for being ALL IN for Olivet on Day of Giving!
*If we fall short of our fundraising goal, we will apply any raised funds toward our budget.
