Coach's Message

The state of Ohio Wesleyan Women’s Basketball is defined by one word: Excellence.

On the court, the Battling Bishops have proven we belong on the national stage. Last season, we finished as the NCAC runner-up to the NCAA National Champion—a team we proved we could beat with a signature regular-season victory. With the return of the NCAC Player of the Year and a 1st Team All-American, our 'championship window' is wide open. We aren’t just competing for conference titles; we are chasing a national standard.

However, our success isn't limited to the scoreboard. Our student-athletes embody the true spirit of the 'OWU Way':

  • Academic Distinction: The team maintained an elite 3.6 cumulative GPA, proving that our players are as disciplined in the classroom as they are on the hardwood.
  • Community Impact: Beyond the court, our players are active leaders in the Delaware community, dedicating their time to service and giving back to the fans who support them.

To keep this momentum going, we’re looking for partners who are as invested in these young women’s futures as we are. Your support does more than just fund equipment; it provides the extra edge in training, travel, and specialized support that takes our team from being a strong contender to a true national champion. By partnering with us, you are elevating more than a single season; you are directly fueling the growth and future success of these remarkable athletes.

We have the talent. We have the character. Now, we need the resources to finish the journey. Join us.

Top Fundraising Priorities

  1. New Shooting Machine(s)
    1. Right now, there is one shooting machine that our women share with the men's basketball team. It is outdated and overused. Having a modern shooting machine is foundational.
  2. Locker Room Upgrades
    1. Outside of Branch Rickey Arena, our locker room is the facility that our players spend the most time in. It's a space where we honor the history & tradition of the program, teach the game through film & analytic review & where our women go to relax/study in between classes.
  3. Sponsorship of Annual Tournament/Classic
    1. As our national profile has grown, it's getting harder to incentivize opposing teams to travel to play us on our home floor. Scheduling is such an important component to giving our team the best chance at qualifying for the National Tournament for the 5th consecutive year. Having the resources to turn our annual Holiday tournament into an Invitational where the teams that we need to be competing against in our region sign up to travel to Branch Rickey could be a game-changer.
