The first Notre Dame Day on record occurred on March 25, 1901, as a joint celebration of the Annunciation and Maryland Day. From its earliest days, this occasion has reflected the spirit, values, and sense of community that define Notre Dame of Maryland University.
Today, Notre Dame Day is a day of service, punctuated by a literal feast in Doyle Hall, that celebrates the University’s mission, honors our rich heritage, and recognizes the achievements of outstanding students, faculty, and staff. It is a time to come together in gratitude, reflection, and shared purpose.
Established three years ago, NDMU Day also serves as the University’s official Day of Philanthropy—a moment when our community unites to ensure that the Notre Dame experience continues to thrive for current and future students. Each gift made on this day directly supports the programs, scholarships, and opportunities that empower our students to learn with purpose, lead with confidence, and serve with compassion.
We invite you to join the spirit of Notre Dame Day with a gift to the Notre Dame Fund or to another fund that is meaningful to you. No matter the size, your generosity helps strengthen the foundation of our University and sustains the mission we all share.
Thank you for celebrating Notre Dame Day with us and for your continued support of Notre Dame of Maryland University.
In the words of Jon Bon Jovi, "OOOOOOOOH! WE'RE HALFWAY THERE!"
Yes, we are at almost 50% of our 200 donor goal, thanks to our wonderful NDMU family.

If you feel inspired to go a little further, a small additional gift (even $2) will count as another donor and get us one step closer to securing that $20,000 matching gift challenge.
Thank you for being a part of NDMU Day 2026!
