Today, more than half of our students are the first in their families to attend college. Many of those students work long hours just to stay enrolled. Some face impossible choices like paying tuition or fixing the car they need to get to class. Our Golden Huskies, who are graduates of 50 years ago or more, want to change that.

The Golden Huskie Promise Fund, a proud extension of NIU’s Huskie Promise initiative and part of NIU's FORWARD campaign, empowers students to overcome financial barriers and thrive—inside and outside the classroom. Your gift supports scholarships, hands-on learning, career development, and emergency aid.

Today, every gift—no matter the amount—triggers an additional $100 contribution from an anonymous donor, up to $2,000.

Even better, when $50,000 is raised for the Golden Huskie Promise Fund this year, Double Huskies Glenn ’73 and Sharon Hollister, ’92, inspired by their belief in the power of student support, will match that amount with a $50,000 gift to establish their own Golden Huskie Promise Endowment Fund.
