The Department of Sociology and Criminology prepares students to lead in an increasingly complex world. Within small classes of no more than 40 students, they learn from top faculty while developing the analytical skills essential for successful careers and informed citizenship.

They work alongside faculty on original research projects and gain hands-on experience through internships with corporations, nonprofits, social service agencies and criminal justice organizations.

A key component of student success is the Social Science Research and Learning Lab, where students develop highly marketable skills for life after graduation. In the lab, students gain experience with specialized software, strengthen quantitative and qualitative research abilities and participate in professional development opportunities that enhance career readiness.
