English Excellence Funds
Your generosity helps the Department of English shape confident student communicators, creative thinkers, and future educators who will make a difference in classrooms and communities. Excellence fund priorities this year include direct support for:
(1.) future English teachers. With a growing statewide need for teachers, we wish to develop further programs to recruit and support current English secondary education students preparing for impactful teaching careers throughout the region.
Your donation also supports:
(2.) professionalization for undergraduate and graduate students. This priority includes developing student programs for the innovative Book Lab, which blends technology, creativity, and humanities in hands-on ways—from letterpress to digital storytelling. Professionalization also supports student travel, student-led publications (like Stonehouse Academic Journal, Towers literary magazine and the first-year writing focused Contemporary Voices), creative and academic speaker series, virtual and in-person workshops, Generative AI tutorials, and multimodal projects—benefiting students across the university through First-Year Composition events.
Why Give During Huskies United
Your generous support helps us expand access, innovate our programs, and empower the next generation of thinkers, writers, educators, and leaders.
