Department of Anthropology

Anthropology’s mission is to promote an active understanding of cultural and biological diversity in humans and our primate relatives, and to serve society by confronting local, national and global challenges.

Students learn through active experiences including field schools and international research. The department provides advising and mentorship to support independent research, graduate study and career pathways. Through collaborative work with communities and cutting-edge research, students are prepared to become global leaders who promote social justice and address complex societal issues.
