Gifts to Communicative Disorders contribute to...
The Communicative Disorders Student Engagement and Experiential Learning Fund supports outreach activities for undergraduate students in the communicative disorders program. Here are some examples of what gifts to this fund pays for: materials used in programs (i.e., books, art supplies, music, stickers, software), supervision costs for overseeing programs, National Student Speech-Language-Hearing Association memberships, student costs associated with onboarding requirements to be in community facilities, faculty course release time for engagement, and student travel to conferences to speak on NIU engagement programs.
Additionally, contributions help to provide for more graduate assistantships for students to cover the cost of admission and to foster research experiences for both faculty and students; make possible new research spaces and equipment that would allow for a greater student learning and professional development for career placement; and, provide experiential learning opportunities for students.
