Rhythmic Impulse at NYU (NYURI) is NYU's Korean percussion ensemble, founded in 1987 to promote Korean arts and culture through performance and education. For nearly four decades, we’ve welcomed students of all backgrounds to learn traditional percussion and have shared our music at cultural celebrations across New York City.
But to continue our legacy, we need help from the NYU community. Many of our instruments are in urgent need of replacement. Your support will go directly toward purchasing new drums and percussion equipment, allowing current and future members to experience the full resonance, power, and authenticity of Korean music. High-quality instruments ensure we can continue performing at our highest level, preserving this art form on campus and beyond.
NYURI performs at university events and cultural showcases not just at NYU, but all over NYC, sharing Korean music with diverse audiences and building community through rhythm.
Any contribution helps us sustain and strengthen a tradition that has lived at NYU for nearly 40 years.
