The mission of the John and Annie Glenn Public Service Fellows (JAG) is to transform young people into active citizens and public servants.

ESSENTIAL COMPONENTS OF THE PROGRAM

Education: building foundational knowledge and understanding of the groups, systems, and other dynamics that affect communities and can facilitate change.

Empowerment: developing a sense of efficacy and empowerment within individuals and across communities that taking action can and does affect positive change.

Engagement: promoting the application of this knowledge and empowerment to produce civically active individuals who participate and lead efforts to improve the world around them, and encourage others to do the same.

GOALS OF THE PROGRAM
Students who participate in the program will:

• become more knowledgeable about the groups, systems, and other dynamics that affect communities and can facilitate change;
• learn that and experience how their actions can effect positive change toward community challenges;
• become more actively engaged in addressing community problems and challenges;
  work to increase civic awareness, learning, and engagement among others in their communities.
