Equestrian Special Fund

Equestrian sports have been a proud tradition at Mount Holyoke College for more than a century.

When students join our program, they become part of a passionate community of student-athletes committed to excellence both in and out of the arena. Thanks to the generosity of our donors, last year’s Athletics Day of Giving made a meaningful difference for our horses and our program. We welcomed Gus, a true gentleman of a school horse who will teach and inspire our riders for years to come, and installed a winter waterline to the lower paddocks — sparing our barn staff from the daily challenge of dragging 800 feet of hose.

This year, we’re building on that progress with an important goal: help us complete the Stall Fan Project.

A generous donor recently funded the installation of 38 new stall fans, and the improved airflow has already made a tremendous difference in the barn. Now, we’re asking our community to help us raise the remaining $15,000 to outfit every stall, with a goal of reaching at least 100 donors.

Reaching this milestone will ensure that every horse in our care benefits from improved ventilation and comfort year-round. Every gift, no matter the size, brings us closer to completing this important project.

Gifts to the Equestrian Special Fund also help sustain every aspect of our program, including:

• Exceptional care and training for our horses
• Development and education of our riders
• Maintenance and improvement of our facilities

Your support ensures that our horses receive the best care, our riders have access to outstanding training and our facilities remain a place where equestrian excellence thrives.

Exciting news — an anonymous donor and loyal champion of the Mount Holyoke equestrian program is matching every gift, dollar for dollar, up to a maximum of $1,500!
