The Missouri S&T Rocket Design Team is a student-led team with the goal of Launching a Legacy. Each year, we build several rockets, both solid and liquid fueled, to push the boundaries of innovation and engineering.
This year, our rockets—Phantom and Phoenix—represent the most advanced designs in team history. Phantom, our solid rocket, is entirely student-designed and built, including its motor. Phoenix, our liquid rocket, also features a student-designed and built propulsion system, complete with its flight computer. In June, we will launch both rockets at the Friends of Amateur Rocketry site in California. This trip to the Mojave Desert will give our team members the invaluable opportunity to see the culmination of their months of dedication and effort.
To make this trip a reality, we need to raise a total of $18,000. However, our crowdfunding goal is set at $10,000, which we believe is an achievable target with your help. Reaching this goal will cover over half of our trip’s costs, helping to fund essential expenses like transportation, lodging, and equipment. Every dollar raised beyond $10,000 will further reduce the financial burden on our team, ensuring all 25 members can participate in this extraordinary opportunity.

On sunday, we unveiled Phoenix & Phantom to the world! We welcomed team members, friends and family, S&T Faculty, and sponsors to the Innovation Lab. Over the course of the afternoon, each subgroup showcased their part in designing, building and flying these rockets.
In addition, we also launched our FAR Travel Crowdfunding campaign! We are attempting to fundraise $10,000 to send a group of 25 students to launch Phantom & Phoenix in June. In the opening days of the campaign, we raised almost $8,000! Your generous contributions will directly support our journey and empower future engineers to reach for the stars.
