We're the Missouri S&T chapter of EWB-USA, a national organization that partners with communities across the world to design and implement long-term solutions for issues that those communities have identified.
Rather than come in and impose our ideas, we work with community leaders and non-governmental organizations in the same countries to combine local expertise with engineering concepts and the knowledge of our experienced mentors. Currently, we have four projects:
- Urkupiña, Bolivia- A water supply and hygiene project in a 300-person community, so that children can attend school in the nearby town, not worry about waterborne illness.
- Santa Rosa de Cerritos, Ecuador- A water system repair project for a community of 160 people, so that people can drink clean water from their faucets, not just from the distant pressure tank.
- Paraje Xecaxjoj, Guatemala- A new school building and retaining wall for a rural community, so that children can have a safe structure in which to learn instead of worrying about their safety.
- Awasi, Kenya- A water supply project for St. Anthony’s Inclusivity, a school for special needs children, so that all students can grow to their full potential instead of searching for water.
In the last five years, the average EWB-USA project took $52,000 just to construct—and we won't even mention travel costs.
In 2026, members of all four of our project teams are hoping to travel to each of their communities in Bolivia, Ecuador, Guatemala, and Kenya, and we’re estimating a gap of $45,000 between what we have now and what we’ll need to make this possible.
To keep this work going, we’re raising funds for two essentials: sending members overseas to implement projects and joining the national conference in Portland, Oregon to learn, share, and strengthen our impact. Your support fuels both our global projects and the skills we bring home.
If you want to see more of our success stories before you donate, or to follow us around the globe, you can follow us on our Instagram page: @ewb_mst.
Every single cent makes a lasting difference in the lives of hundreds.
Wow! $10,000!
Thank you so much for all of your support for our chapter! Because of you, members of our teams were able to attend the national conference and collect crucial information. Because of you, our teams will be able to travel and our communities will see progress towards clean water and safe structures.
Your donation will change so many lives, both here in the United States and abroad.
From every single one of us, thank you.

Good morning!
We’ve just passed the halfway mark! 🥳 We’re getting close to reaching our goal of $10,000 so all four of our teams can travel and implement their long-term solutions for under-developed communities, but we need your help!
Can you share our campaign? Every time you send the link to a friend, family member, or your story on social media, word gets out about how together, we’re changing lives, and others learn that they can change lives too.
If you have social media, posting on your stories, timelines, and feeds is an immense help! Every like, share, and comment moves these communities toward reliable access to clean water and safe structures.
Thank you so much for your support!
Best,
Engineers Without Borders at Missouri S&T 💙
