Women's Basketball

Your support of Millikin’s Women’s Basketball continues to help the team thrive. When Head Coach Kirsten Hammer took over in July of 2024, she became just the fourth Big Blue Women’s Basketball head coach. The WBB program began with the 1970-71 season, and teams were led by Coach Harriett Crannell from then until the 1985-1986 season. Coach Lori Kerans, Class of 1985 and a former player for Crannell, then led the program through the 2017-18 season followed by Coach Olivia Lett for six seasons. Entering the 2024-25 season, the program has an 841-427 (.663) all-time record, including 14 CCIW Titles and 17 NCAA Tournament appearances, including a third-place finish in 1985 and a national championship in 2004-05.

A note from Coach Kirsten Hammer -The donations collected this year, will play a crucial role in supporting our women’s basketball program by providing the resources needed to create a top-tier experience for our athletes. These contributions help cover essential expenses such as equipment, uniforms, travel costs, training facilities, and coaching staff. We are ensuring that our players will have access to the best tools for success both on and off the court. With the continued support of our donors, we can offer our athletes a well-rounded experience, fostering their development, building team camaraderie, and ultimately helping them achieve their full potential.
