Millikin’s history of Women in Athletics began more than 50 years ago in 1970. At that time, women who wanted to compete in sports had few supporters and even fewer opportunities – until the landmark passing of Title X in 1972. Millikin celebrates a proud tradition of women wearing the Big Blue and has always been at the forefront of Women’s Athletics, including having 10 women’s sports programs today, most recently adding Women’s Triathlon in 2018.
2025 marked the 55th year of sanctioned women's sports at Millikin. Support of the Women in Athletics Fund will continue to advance the causes and fund the needs of the women who "wear the Blue." Give today to help forge a lasting legacy of Women’s sports at Millikin!
