Women’s Triathlon was added as a sport in 2018 with five student-athletes. That inaugural year the team earned third place in the NCAA Division III National Championships, followed by another third place at the Championships in 2019. After no competition in 2020 due to COVID-19, the team then earned second place at the Collegiate Triathlon National Championships (2021) followed by third place (2022). Most recently, the team placed sixth in the NCAA Division III Championships (2024) with just three scoring student-athletes.
Triathlon team members are said “…to swim like being chased by a shark, to bike like they stole it and to run like Forrest Gump.” Add your strength to help build this strong team to the next level by giving your donation today!
A note from Coach Ed Pacey - For Women's Triathlon, the money we have been able to fundraise or get through grants from USA Triathlon, allow us to provide opportunities to athletes who would not have the financial means to provide their own racing bike and other large costs which are a barrier to entry for the sport. This has allowed us to develop numerous All-American and National level athletes that otherwise would not have an opportunity to compete in the sport. This has helped us be a leader in the D III ranks in terms of our team supporting sport sponsorship, and Phase 2 of becoming a fully funded NCAA sport. Our ability to maintain a program and bring in athletes to Triathlon, without costs to the athlete who would face large cost at many other programs has been huge. Our efforts support the now near 400 female athletes in NCAA Triathlon, as we only move forward together through growth of the sport at a national level.
