The Commonwealth Honors Program (CHP) was established at Middlesex Community College over 20 years ago by Professor Dr. David M. Kalivas to challenge students to achieve their academic and personal goals. The CHP offers an exciting and inspiring opportunity for students to learn at a deeper level. The program provides a place for MCC students to work with dedicated faculty and participate in seminar style classes, exchange insights and ideas with students and professors, participate in extra-curricular activities, and master research techniques and in-class presentations.
In honor of Dr. Kalivas’ over 41 years of service to MCC and the CHP Program, The Dr. David M. Kalivas Honors Scholarship was established by David’s colleagues for his service, commitment, and dedication to his students, and our MCC family and community. The scholarship benefits promising Commonwealth Honors Program students who gain valuable knowledge and skills that add value to their future goals and enhances their ability for transfer to four-year colleges and universities.
We invite to join us in our goal to endow the Dr. David M. Kalivas Honors Scholarship to honor David and provide an annual scholarship to our students in need.
