Winter at Midd. It’s something all Middlebury alumni have in common! When the days get shorter and the wind starts to bite, today’s students put on the layers. They curl up with a good book. They ski. They go for a walk in the snow. Sound familiar?
This winter, we’re asking alumni to support a Middlebury education with a gift through the MiddWinter Challenge. It’s one of our most important fundraising efforts of the year, providing resources for financial aid, faculty support, research opportunities, study abroad, and so much more. What’s more, if we receive 2,000 gifts during the challenge—February 12–14—a generous donor from the Class of 2000 will chip in an additional $100,000! With an extra $100,000 on the line, your gift of any size and for any purpose is even more important.
Please know that your gift to Middlebury will have impact and it will make a difference—especially when combined with 1,999 other gifts and an extra $100,000!
We just finished processing all gifts received during the MiddWinter Challenge and we’re excited to report that we took in 2,010 gifts and earned $462,893 for Middlebury—plus the additional $100,000 from a generous Class of 2000 donor!
We’re so proud of our Middlebury family and so grateful to everyone who makes a Middlebury education rich and rewarding.
We also want to congratulate the Class of 1995 for bringing in 90 gifts and winning the Middlebury Challenge Cup!

The Class of 1980 has really embraced the winter theme with Apres Ski Party hats and mugs in celebration of their upcoming 40th Reunion! Anyone who gives $60 or more during the Challenge will receive one of these awesome hats - compliments of Ned Hentz. Anyone who comes to Reunion gets a mug!
Fun fact- 1980 is toward the top of the leaderboard but it's still an open field and competition is strong for the Class Cup!
