What is the Student Emergency Fund?
Circumstances can change at any moment. Fires, temporary homelessness, injuries and loss of family are examples of hardships that can become turning points for students, forever altering the course of their lives and educational goals. These are only some of the reasons why MSU Denver has created the Student Emergency Fund. The fund provides one-time emergency assistance to students who are dealing with an unanticipated life event. Students can receive funding up to $500 one time during their academic career; only after they have exhausted all other funding options.
The Student Emergency Fund can cover expenses such as emergency housing assistance, urgent rent or utility assistance, costs related to major accidents or loss due to fire, theft, or natural disaster, and much more.
Why We Need Funding
The Student Emergency Fund allows students to remain focused on their educational goals instead of the financial toll of an emergency. Giving a gift to the Student Emergency Fund supports student success and graduation rates by meeting the basic needs of our students. Your support can help our students overcome temporary crises and go on to make an impact in our community.
Support a Student
The Student Emergency Fund is made possible through donors like you! The number of awards given to our students is dependent on the support we get from our generous donors. Any gift, any amount, makes a tremendous impact on our students.
