About

The Presidential Internship in Public Service
The District of Columbia – United States capitol and national public service hub – offers a plethora of rich summer internship opportunities for university students. From congressional internships and executive agencies to major national organizations, these internships are often unpaid and out of reach for MSU Denver students. MSU Denver and the Hart Center for Public Service have collaborated to facilitate more Roadrunner students to take advantage of these opportunities, ensuring our diverse community learns from and impacts the national service community.

This summer, the Presidential Internship in Public Service will offer a cohort of six MSU Denver students a fully-funded opportunity to live and work in Washington, D.C. for 10 weeks. Each student intern will receive funding to cover tuition and fees, a stipend, travel to and from the nation's capital, housing and public transportation expenses. This opportunity was made possible by the generosity of our donors during last year's Day of Giving event. Learn more about the first cohort of Presidential Internship in Public Service students.

Your Support
Thanks to the generous support of President Janine Davidson, Ph.D., every gift made to the Presidential Internship in Public Service fund will be matched dollar-for-dollar, up to $10,000. With your help, we can increase access to the Presidential Internship, allowing even more MSU Denver students to participate in this life-changing internship experience in the coming years!

“By funding these internships, we are removing barriers to public-service opportunities that are often out of reach for so many students,” President Davidson said. “This is about strengthening our democracy by diversifying the public-sector pipeline so that those who make decisions in the public interest are representative of those they serve. I am so proud of our first cohort of students. They are remarkably talented and motivated, and I know their experience in D.C. with be transformational.”

You're invited to join President Davidson in supporting our students with a gift to the Presidential Internship in Public Service on MSU Denver Day of Giving! Together, we can expand this opportunity to more students.

Double your impact by supporting the Presidential Internship in Public Service when you make your gift today!
