The Presidential Federal Internship Program
The Institute for Public Service at MSU Denver was envisioned on the mission to inspire, prepare, and enable Roadrunners to serve our county and communities. In our collective effort to develop the next generation of public service leadership, the Presidential Federal Internship Program offers a transformative opportunity for MSU Denver students to live and work in Washington, D.C.
The Presidential Federal Internship provides a deeply engaging experiential learning opportunity for students which meaningfully impacts their academic ambition and career trajectories. Through this program students receive a fully funded opportunity to live and work in Washington, D.C., serving for ten weeks with the Colorado delegation or other congressional office, a federal agency, or a national NGO. Each student intern receives funding to cover tuition and fees, an hourly salary, travel to and from the nation's capital, and housing and public transportation expenses.
This life-changing opportunity, typically unimaginable to many MSU Denver students, is only made possible by the generosity of our donors.
“By funding these internships, we are removing barriers to public-service opportunities that are often out of reach for so many students,”
“This is about strengthening our democracy by diversifying the public-sector pipeline so that those who make decisions in the public interest are representative of those they serve. I am so proud of our Presidential Federal Internship students. They are remarkably talented and motivated, and I know their experiences were transformational.”
-MSU Denver President, Dr. Janine Davidson
