Collaborative Dance Performance

The MSU Denver Department of Theatre and Dance and the MSU Denver Center for Visual Art present Stories bound and free on Friday, October 20 at 6:30pm. This dance event is inspired by works and themes featured in CVA’s Colorado Women to Watch exhibition. Students from the Choreography 2 course engage with this compelling exhibition through original dance works that weave together shapes and stories as they cycle through moments of raw form, flow, and feeling. Dancers embody themes of waiting and solitude, confinement and escape, language and migration, and embodied power and identity. The dancers’ intimate gestures and skillful physicality offer an invitation for the audience to journey through an imaginal landscape of layered stories and moving shadows, opening to the wonder that is evoked in Stories bound and free.
Please join us for this unique event, which is part of an ongoing series of collaborations between the MSU Denver dance program and the Center for Visual Art. Stories bound and free is free and open to the public, but space is limited, so please register in advance to reserve a spot.
