AIGA Design Conference
AIGA is the American Institute for Graphic Arts, the largest network of graphic artists and designers in the country. The AIGA Design Conference is the largest gathering of graphic designers in the nation. Each year there is a national conference held to bring designers together for three days of workshops, speakers, networking, and more. There are different themes per conference, and this year’s theme is Bridges, since it's being held in Pittsburgh, the city of bridges. The theme is striving to answer questions such as, "Who are those in the creative communities building bridges to new ways of thinking, new ways of living, and new ways of creating? Who is challenging and rewriting established narratives, guiding old behaviors and institutions into a new, modern way forward? Who are the builders, the uniters?"
Your Support
We are members of MSU Denver's student AIGA chapter, called Future Leaders of Design. We are all Communication Design students in our final year at MSU Denver, and would love the opportunity to travel to this years conference. As young women of color, connectivity and representation in our field is important to us. The AIGA Design conference is an opportunity for us to travel outside of our community and learn from design professionals first hand, and also learn more about what we can do to act as bridges in our community and within the design field. Any additional funds raised above our goal amount will be used to support general Future Leaders of Design program expenses.
Thank you so much for your consideration in donating to us to help make this possible!
Hello everyone!
We are very happy and surprised to say that after just one day we have raised just over HALF of our goal amount to travel! We wanted to extend a HUGE thank you to those of you who have donated so far. You are all making this trip possible for us, we are extremely grateful!
Thanks again,
Alyssa, Hannah, and Kandice
