Our surrounding communities in western North Carolina have been devastated by tropical storm Helene.
Austin Lee, a member of the Board of Trustees, emphasized the impact on our university community:
"Over 20% of the students at Mars Hill University are Local Lions and hail from the counties most affected by this storm. The Mars Hill Scholarship Fund will give the school the most flexibility in meeting the needs of these students.
Some of the students have lost everything and their ability to attend college is in jeopardy along with processing the grief associated with all that has happened in the place they call home.
A gift to the Mars Hill Scholarship Fund will ensure that not only will immediate needs be met, but also the long term needs these students face as they finish their degrees in the face of financial ruin for their families.
Please join me in contributing in a very unique way to supporting both short and long term needs in Western North Carolina and East Tennessee."
Thank you for standing with our students in this time of need.
We wanted to take a moment to express our deepest gratitude for the incredible support of the Mars Hill Scholarship Fund. Beyond financial support, our students have shown extraordinary resilience and compassion during this time. Many have been actively volunteering in local recovery efforts. On behalf of the entire Mars Hill University family, thank you for your kindness and continued support. Together we are making a lasting impact, both on campus and in the community.
