The Department of Music at Mars Hill University is well-known for producing superb educators and performers whose career paths include the classroom, community and church work, graduate school, the concert stage, and beyond.
The Mars Hill University Wind Symphony is the principal instrumental ensemble in the Department of Music. The Wind Symphony performs concerts both on and off campus and on an annual concert tour.
The Instrumental Ensembles host a wide variety of other small/chamber ensembles. These include Jazz Ensemble, World Percussion Ensembles, and small ensembles specific to particular instrument families.
The Mountain Lion Marching Band is the sound behind the MHU Lions football gameday experience.
The Mars Hill University Choir (the department’s flagship choral ensemble) and Chamber Singers offer students meaningful artistic experiences in the choral art. With off campus tours and on campus performances, choral students are an integral part of the cultural fabric of the university.
