As Pioneers, we know that generosity has the power to unite and heal communities in good times and bad. A global threat like COVID-19 affects every member of The Long Blue Line, and it also presents an opportunity to come together as a family – and we’ve never needed our family more. We invite you to join us for a three-day celebration of our community, and of the Time, Talent, and Treasure we share with each other.
Celebrate the Class of 2020 by sharing your Time on Sunday, May 3 and attending their online graduation ceremony. Or take the time to reconnect with the College by scheduling a virtual coffee chat in our online cafe.
Pioneers are a uniquely talented group, and when we share our Talent, our expertise and our enthusiasm with each other, we not only strengthen our community, but our spirits. On Monday, May 4, we invite you to share your Pioneer Pride by posting a photo or video message with the community and tagging it with #GivingPioNow. You can also share your talent by committing to speak to a class, host a workshop, take part in a panel or mentor a student, either virtually or in-person.
And on Tuesday, May 5, we invite you to share your Treasure with a gift to the Marietta Fund, which allows College leadership to respond to emerging priorities, or the Pioneer Support Fund, a new initiative that will provide emergency grants to students who need help with medical bills, transportation costs, food, housing or other demonstrated needs. Your gift on GivingTuesdayNow, a new global day of giving, will help ensure that the College you love and the students who need you can continue to thrive in these unprecedented times.
While Giving Tuesday Now may have ended, the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic have not. Students continue to face financial hardships, and together we can help.
Your gift may be the reason a Pioneer makes rent this month, has a full pantry of food, can pay an unexpected medical bill, or gets their car back up and running. Your outreach may be the reason another member of The Long Blue Line steps up and joins you in supporting today's Pioneers, ensuring these emergency grants will remain available in the uncertain months ahead.
