The Open Pantry is a source of non-perishable food for students facing food insecurity and strives to provide students access to food in a timely manner. Usage of the pantry increased 40% in Fall 2024 compared to Fall 2023. With state grant funding, the Open Pantry has partnered with MacShare to provide 200 vouchers in the pantry that are good for $15 at their weekly sales, providing a source for fresh produce and other items not in the pantry’s inventory. Gifts to the Open Pantry will help fund these vouchers, which have been wildly popular with Mac students.
