Forensics Program

This year six Ethics Bowl students were crowned as the National Champions over Stanford University, Moot Court made its debut at nationals, and Policy Debate received a First-Round-At-Large Bid to the National Debate Tournament for the first time since 1984. Forensics is alive and well at Macalester College!

Participation has more-than-doubled in the last five years, with over 80 students competing in Mock Trial, Ethics Bowl, Policy Debate, Moot Court and ModelUN in the 2024-2025 season.

There is truly no forensics program with the talent, community and range like ours.

Gifts to Forensics will directly support attendance at end-of-year national championships for Policy Debate and Mock Trial, which includes covering airfare, lodging, ground transportation, food costs and tournament entry fees. Any additional funds raised will assist with 2025-26 program funding!
